Designers such as Haskell and Juliana and german styles pop up frequently....but never stay for long!

Vintage jewelry sets are also a favorite. Whether is is an Aurora Borealis parure set or a rhinestone demi-parure set, you are sure to find an interesting vintage jewelry set to dress up that evening suit or even add sparkle to your jeans!.

Whether you are a serious collector or just looking for something fun, check back often for new items. You might find a triple decker rhinestone bracelet in a nice art deco flair or an art nouveau french jet black glass piece that is more subtle. Cuff bracelets are also all the rage, for a more retro jewelry look.

Our personal favorite are vintage costume jewelry necklaces! This can really set off an outfit. Perhaps it is a clear aurora borealis crystal choker with a rhinestone clasp, or a multistrand art glass, pearl or czech filigree stone necklace. Every now and then you might find a venetian glass necklace that you can double up for a dramatic look. A french sautoir necklace adds a little art deco flapper style when worn at full length. This too can be doubled or tripled for a more refined look.

There are so many possibilites, combintations and colors available with vintage costume jewelry: pink glass, blue rhinestone, brass filigree, glass pearl choker, crystal lucite, blue art glass, milk glass, venetian glass, chokers, double strands, triple strands, sautoir, flapper style, opalescant, drop necklaces.

There are also many periods and styles:

Retro Modern & Art Modern: 1935-1950; 1945-1960

The Retro Modern period began righ after the depression and expresses the move into the modern era. Our favorites here include those absolutely fabulous huge cocktail rings and those great sparkly cluster clip back earrings. You will see huge rhinestone bling necklaces from the designers such as Sarah Coventry, gold glam earrings and brooches from Trifari, Avon earring and necklace set, Holiday christmas tree pins from Gerry's and more. Sunburst rhinestone brooches, bold chunky charm bracelets, rhinestones, rhinestones, rhinestones!

Art Deco: 1920-1935

This period produced many themes from the roaring 20s to glitzy hollywood glam. Many angular and triangle shapes, german glass, and marcasite and enameled pieces art Art Deco. Many brooches from this era are rhodium plated. Czecnh glass, bakelite and filigree styles can also be found in many art deco brooches and necklaces. Whether it is a czech glass necklace, a flapper style or a faux pearl choker - this style has always pleased the eye. Earrings are typically screw backs and included long and dangly styles. And don't forget the dress clips and rhinestones! Also popular were paste stones or glass stones to imitate more costly and extravegant styles. Think of it as the modern day travel jewelry!

Of course, many jewelry styles have been influenced in later time period from this age as well.

Art Nouveau: 1890-1919

This period shows a feminine and whimsical flair as compared to the angles and lines of the art deco period. Many themes were inspired by nature, so it is here you will see floral themes, butterflies, and dragonflies. While you might find a nice art deco dragonfly brooch or pin - an art nouveau pin would hav much more flow and flowery whimsical fashions. The colors tend to be softer than the bolder art deco pieces, and these are true art pieces with mystery, fantasy and symbolism!

And Designers - oh so many. What is most interesting is the most designers cross periods, so you will see variety in their style and pieces as they evolved with the world and jewelry trends! Many famous costume jewelry designers include Trifari, Juliana, Coro, Weiss, Napier, Coro, Sarah Coventry, Vendome, Monet, Lisner adn Miriam Haskell to name a few!
